1:00 PM (ET), 12:00 PM (CT), 11:00 AM (MT), 10:00 AM (PT)

Overview

Assessment of Needs

The IAS–USA volunteer Board of Directors will be gathering for their annual meeting on the eve of the 2015 International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference in Vancouver, Canada. This year the Board will be conducting a live, hour-long, interactive, roundtable webinar covering current questions and issues in HIV research (eg, the state of a cure for HIV, the implications of the START study, and advances in preexposure prophylaxis) that are expected to be presented at the conference. We encourage you to join the discussion with these international luminaries.

The annual IAS–USA volunteer Board meeting is crucial to the development of IAS–USA continuing medical education (CME) activities, as new research that is expected to be released is discussed, a comprehensive assessment of gaps in the knowledge or practice is reviewed, and the gaps and needs assessments combined from all IAS–USA CME activities in the previous year are evaluated.

Learning Objectives

On completion of this IAS–USA live activity, participants will be able to describe current issues in research and care for HIV including:

  • New approaches to a cure
  • Therapeutic prevention strategies
  • Management of antiretroviral therapy
